True Woman ’25

This week, I traveled to Indianapolis. My employer, Revive Our Hearts, put on a women’s conference for over 6,000 in-person attendees and over 7,000 online participants. This three day event challenged women to “behold the wonder” of the Word of God. All of the messages were focused on this theme.

The conference consisted of four main sessions from Thursday night to Saturday morning. Friday was a full day with a morning session, afternoon breakout sessions, and an evening session.

I was involved with the livestream, which included five different languages including English. I had put together the livestream pages in the weeks leading up to the event. During the event, I monitored the livestreams to make sure they were working and then posted the archived videos. I also added content to the website. I spent most of the conference “on call” backstage.

I did get a chance to step away from the computer and watch two of the talks. I listened to Kevin DeYoung on Thursday night and took in a very powerful message from Jackie Hill Perry on Friday night.

I enjoyed the opportunity to see how this ministry is impacting the lives of women who read our content, listen to our podcasts, and attended the event. The women were so excited to be there and made a lot of noise on Thursday night when they opened the doors to the venue. It was great to see groups of women praying together in the hallways. I am looking forward to hearing stories on how God worked through the conference in the days ahead.

It was great to get to meet several teammates in person for the first time, especially Rachel from our French team. I have interacted a lot with her over the past three months as we migrated Réveille Nos Cœurs from WordPress to Django CMS and as I worked with her over the past three weeks on content for the French livestream page.

Austin is one of the teammates that I met in person for the first time at the conference. Austin is part of the design team and we have collaborated on several projects.

I enjoyed getting to work side by side with my digital team. I roomed with Nicolas, who joined Revive Our Hearts at the same time as I did six months ago. I work closely with Nicolas on the front end of the Revive Our Hearts website. This is the first time I have seen him in person since we onboarded. I also enjoyed catching some meals with Nicolas, Bryan (our team leader), and Logan (backend). We ate dinner at PF Changs on Wednesday night and got breakfast together on Thursday morning at Café Patachou.

I enjoyed seeing several groups of women at the Indianapolis airport with their conference t-shirts or tote bags. And some were on my first flight to Chicago. They all seemed to have enjoyed the conference.

Enjoying the sights

In the midst of the long day on Tuesday, I needed a break late in the day. My team leader suggested going to my hotel and taking a nap. I chose instead to walk around downtown and take in the architecture of Indy. I had already taken some pictures of the Indiana Repertory Theatre on Thursday morning and had taken a couple of pictures when Nicolas and I went out to grab lunch for our team earlier in the day. I walked over the Artsgarden and then took pictures of the buildings nearby before heading over to the Monument Circle. It was a short outing but it refreshed me and fed my creative soul.

Delight

This caught my eye at the Indy airport. The sign for the bathroom was whimsical. It took on a 3D quality with the the head peeling forward. I also thought it was clever that they used two different colors to distinguish and make it easier for busy, on-the-go travelers to know where they needed to go.

I like to add delight to my work. But I am not sure that I have thought about it and been as intentional about it recently. This “delight” in the Indy airport was a challenge for me to think about and ask how I can bring delight into my work. I want to be more intentional to consider this.
