Week of November 9–15

I had struggled the previous couple of weeks with getting going in my work. It was hard to get started each day. But this week, I was able to jump in right away and took a deep dive each day into a single project. I am currently building the digital version of an annual report for Revive Our Hearts.

I really enjoyed my work this week. I had a lot of fun bringing the annual report to life. I have always enjoyed this phase of a project when I start to get into a groove and see the concept take shape. I am using the print version for cues. The print designer commented that the digital version parallels the print one so well when I sent him a link to see my work in progress. That was an encouragement and affirmation that I am headed in the right direction.

There were times in 2024 when I was very unsure that I would be working as a front-end developer again. I faced a challenging job market that I struggled to get noticed enough to get an interview. And I observed that there was a lot of disruption in the industry. Looking at where I am now in 2025, I feel incredibly grateful and blessed that I get to continue to do the work that I love to do. That was not lost on me last week as I got lost in my work and it felt more like play than work. I am glad that I get to continue to experience creative moments like I had last week.

• Faithfully Present (Adam Ramsey) – I finished this one on Saturday.

• Not Old, Not Young, Not Done. (Christopher Ash)
• All That Jesus Commanded (John Piper) – I have been slowly working my way through this one since mid-June. I put it down for a few weeks and picked it back up.

What I played

MLB The Show 20 (Twins) – I played 4 games this week and went 3-1. I lost the final game to the Indians and ended a 9 game winning streak. My team has 102 wins as I begin September.
