Week of February 23–March 1

  • I had a couple of interviews for both contract and full-time work this week. Both were encouraging and I hope to hear back this week.
  • I started writing an article about my WordPress-to-Craft personal project that I started in December. I hope to finish it up and publish it early this coming week.
  • I continued working on my Memory Keeper personal project. I added functionality to open up larger version of images that are in galleries. The larger image opens up in a <dialog>. I also continued to add content to the project.
  • I forgot about the axe-con online conference last week. I will have to make some time to catch up on the videos in the near future. They always have some great talks on accessibility.

Toe Dipping into view transitions

I spent some time “toe-dipping” into view transitions thanks to Geoff Graham’s article on CSS Tricks. I implemented a similar solution to his WordPress solution and now have transitions on my page title going from a grid listing of articles to a specific article. I had already implemented the most simpliest animation between pages: @view-transition { navigation: auto; } earlier this year. It is great how little code you need add transitions to make your site just a little bit slicker.

I have walked 118.5 miles to start the year.

  • Sunday – 4.01 miles in 1 hour 14 minutes
  • Tuesday – 4.20 miles in 1 hour 15 minutes – I really enjoyed the sunny shorts weather.
  • Friday – 2.96 miles in 56 minutes
  • Saturday – 4.88 miles in 1 hour 29 minutes

What I played

  • NBA 2K25 (Nuggets) – I went 3-1 for the week.
  • MLB The Show 20 (Twins) – I played an exhibition game and started a season with the 2020 Twins. I won the exhibition and lost the season game.
