Week of March 9–15
- I published an article, A business case for Craft versus WordPress 2025. Nine years ago, I wrote a business case to help a client understand why our agency chose Craft over WordPress. Given my renewed experience with Craft and the situation in the WordPress community, I decided to revisit the subject for 2025.
- The article and another recent article I wrote about my experience converting a project from WordPress to Craft CMS were featured in the March Craft CMS newsletter.
- Late on Friday, I started another personal project to convert a WordPress site to Craft. That project had several custom WordPress blocks. I could not import the project from WordPress because I no longer have access to the server. I want to think through how to translate WordPress block strategy into Craft.
Articles I read
- Overflow Clip (Ahmad Shadeed)
- Kind of annoyed at React (Cassidy Williams)
- Arrogance & Eloquence (Tim Challies)
- When The Path That I Fear Is the Way He Has Set (Tim Challies) – This was a timely article that addressed some anxiety in my heart about the future.
- 100 things you can do on your personal website (James) – I believe I have read this before but good to revisit.
- In defense of unpolished personal websites (Ana Rodrigues)
- Mullenweg Considers Delaying WordPress Releases Through 2027 (Search Engine Journal)
- Tools & Rules (Dan Mall)

- The Lord of Psalm 23 (David Gibson) – I started this one on Friday.

Walking – 21.4 miles
I hit a milestone this week. I have been using Strava for a year to track my walking. I ended up just short of 750 miles for the year, 741.4. This was also my most active week since the first of February.
