Today I joined my family on a field trip to the Chattanooga Amazon Fulfillment Center. We could not take photos inside the building. But I was able to capture my experience in a sketchnote later in the day. Fortunately there are some photos online (Google search) to help me with some references.

I really got into sketchnoting two years ago after reading Mike Rohde’s book, The Sketchnote Handbook?. I recently came across the site, Verbal to Visual. Doug Neill, who is the author of the site, recently started doing daily videos. They have really encouraged and inspired me to expand my skills into in the area of visual language.

Doing this sketchnote of my experience was inspired by Doug and Mike.

  • Doug wrote a blog post earlier this summer about keeping a visual journal. Today I bought a separate notebook so I could try this out.
  • In his follow-up book, The Sketchnote Workbook, Mike talks about sketchnoting experiences.
