My son rebuilt his LEGO ARC Starfighter on Saturday. He has wanted to rebuild it for a long time but wasn’t sure he had all the pieces. He went through all his pieces on Friday and found all that he needed. It is his favorite ship. I forgot how impressive it was.

I sat in his room while he rebuilt it. I enjoyed watching him and just enjoyed the moment. This is probably the last summer that he will live at home. He will graduate next May and has plans that involve moving away. So I have been trying to take advantage of these moments and savor them. It was nice to hang out and connect over our love of LEGO and Star Wars.

A friend of mine shared a similar post on Instagram recently:

“They may grow up, move out, and do the adulting thing, but it is nice to see a little of the cherished little guy in them come out every once in a while.”

I enjoyed seeing that in my own son as I watched him rebuild one of his favorite LEGO. Okay, now I need a moment…
