Weeknotes 23:15
May 21, 2023
Week of May 14–20
My workload continues to be on the light side. I did have things to work on each day and bounced around jumping into a lot of different projects plus has time to read some articles and do some research.
- I updated the functionality on the Principal Media interactive catalog to only filter one genre at a time versus multiple genres. This solution involved switching from a checkbox to a radio element because radio elements only allow one selection at a time.
- I added some resources to the NAPEO National PEO Week toolkit.
- I helped out my teammate Brandon but writing the HTML and CSS for a new page template on the Toyota Policy Driver’s site which freed him up to concentrate on the backend programming to communicate with Quorom.
- I helped with QA (quality assurance testing) with the new LGND site we plan to launch soon. I also built out a case study in the Gutenberg editor.
- I took some time to research build tools. I am growing disappointed with Codekit; it is just not working well in a team environment. I have been exploring some alternatives such as Parcel, Laravel Mix, and Webpack. My teammates have been using Webpack and Parcel so I wanted to find out a bit more about how they work.
What I wrote
On Friday, I wrote a case study for the Principal Media interactive video catalog that we launched at the end of April. I incorporated some content from an earlier weeknote post from March. I always find it a challenge to sit down and put these types of things together. But the regular discipline of writing weeknote posts each week has really helped me. It is a great feeling to be able to document my work and process, if for no one besides myself.

Tim Keller passed away last week after a battle with pancreatic cancer. I admired Tim as a cultural thinker and one who championed the gospel in his messages. I enjoyed listening to his sermons both for the content and the warm, fatherly delivery.
