Week of September 27–October 3
Around the workshop

- Wonder of the Word templates – We launched the first phase of the new templates on Thursday. The “Hub” page serves as the central jumping off point to the various parts of Wonder of the Word happening during 2027 and 2028. Right now the Hub page is a preview of what is to come. The launch on Thursday was the culmination of 3 months of work in development and many months of planning and dreaming from the larger Revive Our Hearts team.
- Study through the Bible email template – Our different language teams have loaded up content for the first season of the Study through the Bible content. We now have sample emails for the different teams to review. I started getting some feedback from our French and German teams at the end of the week.
- Updating logo and colors on Revive Our Hearts sites – We launched the updated logo and color changes to the 7 different Revive Our Hearts sites late on Thursday. I am excited to finally have that in the wild and not just see the changes on the site on my local Git branch.
- Wonder of the Word Kids template – I am moving on to build out the remaining templates for Wonder of the Word. This week I worked on a template for Wonder of the Word Kids. This page is similar to the “Hub” page but is specific to the Kid’s program. On this page, you can access the latest episode, download a daily worksheet, access a weekly Scripture Memory page for Kids and access previous worksheets.
- Updated mobile layout for Blogs – I wanted to improve the user experience of our blog article listing page on mobile devices. I started working on this a couple of months ago and have come back to it as time has allowed. I finally received some feedback and made some final modifications to the new layout. The listing now includes about 5 articles per screen versus 1.5 to 2 in the previous layout. My original idea was to not show the article image but after some feedback, decided to make it smaller and include it in the layout.
- Volunteers page for True Woman ’27 – I build out a new page for the True Woman ’27 microsite. This page will give potential volunteers information about volunteering at the event along with a signup form. I copied in the content from True Woman ’25 and updated dates so that the content team would have a place to start. I also made some change to a generic page template that will make it easier for us to use the same template to create more secondary pages in the months ahead.

New logo
Over the weekend, Revive Our Hearts revealed our new logo at a ministry partner event and our 25th anniversary celebration. The new logo reflects the ministry’s enduring passion that women’s lives would be changed as they get into God’s Word and get God’s Word into their hearts.
I like that we have added the Bible to our logo because God’s Word is so central to what we are about as a ministry. I have been working over the past month to implement the new logo on our 7 different language sites and update colors to reflect our updated color scheme.

Getting the band back together (road trip)

We got the band back together and took a road trip to eastern Tennessee to see my youngest perform in Decision Height, which tells the story about bravery, sacrifice, and sisterhood as a group of women go through training for Woman Airforce Service Pilot in World War II. My son flew in from Indiana and my oldest shuttled down from Nashville. It was nice to spend some time with both of them before we made the road trip on Saturday. We enjoyed lunch together, explored the campus, took in the show, and then got some food from Freddy’s after the show and hung out at our hotel room for a bit.
