The vision of Student2Student was to see students involved in Campus Crusade for Christ trust God with the privilege of leading at least one other student to Christ.
Communication was vital to the success of this project. Each week, students would receive an email updating them on the overall progress of the Student2Student initiative. They would also receive encouragement, ideas, and resources to help them in their prayer and witness.
The Student2Student Web site would also fuel students’ participation. The site includes resources, video and audio training. A popular feature of the site allowed students to share stories of their Student2Student experience.
The original Student2Student site was done in Flash. Then it was redone in HTML using tables. I undertook this redesign to make improvements to the site architecture, add new resources and update the look and feel of the site. I also wanted to comply with Web standards using XHTML and CSS.
Another enhancement to the site was a “Tough Questions” blog, which I set up using WordPress. This also became a popular feature as many students commented on the posts.
The Student2Student initiative ended in May of 2006.
