Jeff Bridgforth :: Webcraftsman

I am a Web designer with a passion for creating visually appealing, inspiring, and usable Web sites.

I dream of working on a creative team that leverages technology to change the world.

I think we should talk.

Let’s talk about me

I am a Web designer passionate about user experience

User experience has always been very important to me because I was a Web user before I was a Web designer. I create interfaces that are not only beautiful aesthetically, but also work beautifully so that the Web user can accomplish his or her task and get on to living their life.

I am a Web strategist

A project can never be just about a Web site. Whether it is using Twitter, Facebook, other social media, or going mobile, the client needs a customized Web strategy that will leverage the numerous ways that their content can be accessed beyond their Web site.

For the past 10 years, I have given leadership to the Web strategy for the U.S. Campus Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ which serves over 800 campuses, with a desire to expand to more. I consistently challenge those I work with to think beyond just building a Web site to developing a Web strategy that meets their ministry objectives.

I am a CSS and HTML expert

I am an expert CSS coder who pushes CSS to its limits in all my projects. I have been incorporating CSS3 in recent projects to enhance the user experience in the browsers that support it. I am also very well-versed in HTML and prefer to hand code. I have advanced knowledge of Photoshop and Fireworks; and Illustrator is becoming one of my favorite tools. I have programming experience with PHP and MySQL and have been developing those skills of late in WordPress. I also have experience with SVN version control and back-end experience with setting up Web sites through server control panels and using SSH when necessary.

I value professional development and I am catalyst for resource release

I have an unquenchable thirst for learning. I have a passion for the Web and love to keep up on the latest trends and techniques. I have taken advantage of conferences like User Interface, Refresh ’06, and Photoshop World to improve my skills and learn from the industry’s best.

Not only do I love to learn, but I also love to pass it along. Whether it is mentioning a book or blog post to a colleague, sharing a link on Twitter, or writing a post on my personal blog or my creative team’s blog, I love to empower others with the knowledge I have gained. One of my dreams is to give back to the Web design community by sharing what I have learned.

Let’s talk about you

You are passionate about doing important work that impacts positive social change

You like working with non-profits because it is important and rewarding. You believe that it is an honor to be involved with organizations that engage in amazing efforts to create positive change in our world.

You value developing your team and engaging the wider community

I admire that you want to develop every team member to their fullest potential. And you want to give back to the larger community through blogging, speaking at conferences, participating in meet-ups or being involved in open source development.

Who you need

You need an interactive designer with an impressive portfolio who shares your values of people first, being a team player, and doing important work that impacts positive social change.

Pick me

I have the design skills you are looking for. I have an impressive portolio, a great understanding of typography, and experience using grid systems in my layouts.

I am a team player who values people and enjoys working with others collaboratively in the creative process.

I value doing work that is important and adds value to people’s lives. I want to be part of a creative team that leverages technology to change the world. Aten is doing that. I would like to become a part of your team.

I strive to develop my skills to their fullest potential to serve both my team, the client, and the client’s audience. I want to make a bigger contribution to the larger Web community by participating and presenting at Web conferences and seminars.

I am confident that I can make an immediate and valuable contribution to Aten.

The following are recommendations I have received through LinkedIn.

  • Jeff Bridgforth is a smart, innovative expert in Web technology. I pulled whatever strings were necessary to bring his talent under the domain of our communications department when we worked for the same company. Never rattled by the real-world demands of the end user, Jeff skillfully brings advanced technology to solve the ever-complex Web needs of a major organization.”

Nathan Dunn, Vice President, Florida Family Policy Council, former leader of Campus Communications Team

  • Jeff’s website design was very well received by both the Campus Crusade staff–the ones who point students to the website–and by the students who are the true users of the website. These groups have very different values and needs which highlights what an outstanding job that Jeff did.”

Dan Allan, St. Louis Metro Director and Summer Project Promotional Team, Campus Crusade for Christ

    Go Summer Project

  • Jeff did a tremendous job redesigning the interface for our national Conference Registration System upgrade (CRS 2.0). The product has a great look and feel that is clean, user friendly and professional. His hard work and attention to detail were essential in the pleasant outcome we have experienced.”

Jessica Bott, Conferences & Events Director — Northeast Region, Campus Crusade for Christ

    Conference Registration System

  • Jeff has great creative instincts and a strong desire to create quality products. Our new registration system owes its look and feel to his ability to meet unique requirement demands.”
