Google Books has added a new feature. You can now download pdfs of out-of-copyright books. Not all books are available yet. I look forward to searching to find what they have.

Socialmeter - A Web marketing tool

Today I came across an interesting tool called “socialmeter.” This tool scans several sites such as Google, del.icio.us, Technorati and a couple of others to show you the popularity of the url that you supply. It gives you a report that are linked so that you can further explore on the different sites like Technorati.
You can also drag a link from the socialmeter site into your toolbar. You can use it to check the score of the page you have currently open in your Web browser. I found this tool while on the homepage of del.icio.us.
CollegeWalk mentioned on Breakpoint (updated)

One of the sites that I designed and developed, CollegeWalk, was mentioned yesterday on Chuck Colson’s Breakpoint. CollegeWalk helps connect Christian freshman to campus ministries. The site was mentioned as a resource at the end of the segment on character on the college campus.
CollegeWalk is a site that I would like to develop further but I have run into some problems getting that done. There is functionality behind the site that allows students to register and ask that one or more of the college minstries contact them. There are other collegiate ministries that we would like to add but getting the programming done in house has been a challenge. At times I wish I knew more programming so I could make more of my dreams a reality.
Another interesting note, the site was down for a couple of days around the time that it was publicized on Breakpoint. Yikes, missed a huge opportunity there.

I enjoy photography. I find that I think more about taking pictures or how to capture something as I am living life. My wife bought herself these flowers (I wish I could say I did it) and I thought they would make a good subject to try some photos. You can see my favorites of what I captured on Flickr.
CM2007 :: My Latest Design

My latest design project was to build a website for CM2007. CM2007 is Campus Crusade for Christ’s first global student missions conference and it will be held next summer in South Korea.
Much as the Student Volunteer Movement launched a wave of college students to the world as missionaries, Campus Crusade is trusting God for a new outpouring at CM2007.
We believe God will use CM2007 to raise up a new generation of student and staff Leaders who will walk surrendered and intimate lives with Christ, be equipped and motivated as movement builders and commit to taking the gospel to the students and campuses of their nations and the world.
It is one of the most fun designs that I have ever created. I was inspired by the logo that was created by a Korean firm. One of the features of the website is video. There is a video that captures the spirit behind the conference and vignettes from Campus Crusade leaders from around the world.
